To my lovely wife

I know that lately I have been giving tribute to a lot of random things, but I thought that I should give tribute to the most important thing in my life, my wonderful wife.
So, I thought that the best ways to do this would be through a poem by Pablo Neruda. The Poem is entitled "Sonnet 17".

I do not love you as if you were salt-rose, or topaz,
or the arrow of carnations the fire shoots off.
I love you as certain dark things are to be loved,
in secret, between the shadow and the soul.

I love you as the plant that never blooms,
but carries in itself the light of hidden flowers;
thanks to your love a certain solid fragrance,
risen from the earth, lives darkly in my body.

I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where.
I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride;
so I love you because I know no other way

than this: where I does not exist, nor you,
so close that your hand on my chest is my hand,
so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep.

I love you love!

To defend my Honor, or what's left...

Well, since I gave a shoutout to the Golden G's, I've received a lot of crap from a lot of people. Well, ok, mostly my family, but who can blame them.
So, in defense of my honor I would like to give regards to the cool "man-shows" that I enjoyed as a youth. These cool shows include things like "The A-Team", "Knight Rider" and almost any movie with Van Damme.
Oh Crap, I see where this is going, I'm setting myself up again. Oh well. Now I'm going to get psycho analyzed by my Father-in-Law on how all of these shows demonstrate some sort of Freudian condition.
Anyway, these were some of the cool man shows of my youth that have made me such a manly man.

P.S.
Give some props to Mr. T and the Hoff.

Ode to Bee Arthur

I was having some fun on my sight making fun of good "old" John McCain, and I thought hey, no one remembers the good ol' "Golden Girls".
I know that I am going to get a lot of crap for posting this, but hey, you got to follow your gut instincts when it comes to good quality programming. I mean, if Ma makes fun of Rose one more time, I think I am going to bust a gut laughing. By the way my wife will constantly make fun of me, a grown man, for watching this program. But, there is just something about old ladies constantly making fun of each other like they are teenage harlots, that is just endlessly entertaining. Come on. If you are man enough to admit that you also love this program, just leave a comment expressing your love for Bee Arthur and her deep man-voice.
So, to those crazy funny "golden" ladies, I say "thanks for all the laughs and the warm moments eating up cake in your kitchen.

Oh come all ye playful

Wow, I am really excited for a new niece in the family. I bet that Bri is a little more excited than I am, to be at the hospital and have it all done with that is. I want to be one of the first to welcome a sassy new little girl to the family. She be the princess' little assistant. How cute! Anyway, I wish Bri and Adan the best as they start this next chapter in their lives. I wish her the best of health and prosperity. Good job you guys!

P.S.
Go ahead, make an Uncle out of me, again!

Oh the 80's, when fashion was forgotten

Well, I figured what the heck, why not donate at least one blog to the good ol' 80's.
Although I was born in this wonderful era, there really was a lot of confused things going on at this time, to say the least. From legwarmers to big hair, it sure was an interesting time to be alive.
Even though some things are dead and gone, some things remain timeless, like the parachute pants.
I thought that I would bring out this tribute to the 80's because there still are a lot of things that we can be thankful for from this time. I feel that one of these things is some of the music that was produced during this time (although my wife would strongly disagree with this). We can enjoy great tunes from bands like Iron Maiden, ACDC, Judas Priest, Ozzy, and even a little Culture Club and Flock of Seagulls for some guys.
These guys shall remain unnamed to protect the innocent and embarrassed, but let's just say one of them has a name that starts with "A" and ends with "dam". Hehe.
I could go on and on about the great time known as the 80's, but I won't. I just figured that a point in time that gets such a hard wrap should deserve a break every once in a while. So, there you go 80's, don't say I never did anything for you and your super "wow, I need to look away" tight pants.

P.S.
Due to fabricated unpopular rumors I would like to add that I in no way like Gladiator movies.

Jaded

In a world so cold, I've come to find myself feeling a little jaded. I try not to consider myself to be a pessimistic, but a realist. Oftentimes I try to look the other way when society gives me the cold shoulder, but, like I said earlier, this has left me feeling jaded.
Sometimes I wonder how numb and cold I am becoming as a person just due to not being able to trust the average person anymore. It seems like everybody these days are trying to use you for their own selfish desires, or they just pretend to be something they're not.
I guess the reason I worry is because I find myself being just a little bit colder to create a barrier for myself against the society in which we live.
We live in such an individualistic society that is driven by green pieces of paper. Some people like to justify their actions in such a cruel world through their intentions. But, we all know that the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
(That is what scares me. If that last statement is true, my road must be like the 15 freeway.)

Shout out to my Peeps

I just wanted to say thanks to all of my family and all of their support. I never really understood the reason for blogs, or why anyone would want one, until now. I feel like I am more connected than before to my family. This has become a new fun experience for me. I am grateful for a place to let my personality shine, as ackward and bizarre as that might be.
All I have to say is, thanks for letting me be who I truly am! I truly love you all, even Adam.

P.S.
Just joking about Adam, Adam is great! He can't be too bad with such a great daughter.

Come to Zion, and leave your garbage

Man, what the hell?
I am currently working at Deseret Industries, at an undisclosed location, and I have found out that people will donate the most interesting things.
Their are two different kinds of donations: first, there are the people that are actually trying to donate something nice to better the lives of somebody in need or less fortunate, second, there are the people that are just trying to get rid of some of their trash.
For example, we had a guy come in the other day with a truck full of garbage bags. In these garbage bags their were tons of clothes. Now, that seems really nice of him to bring in so many clothes. Well, these clothes were all wet from sitting out in the rain from the night before. We told him that we would not be able to take the clothes because of the condition they are in, and his response was: "Just set them out in the sun and let 'em dry, they'll be just fine".
O.K.?
I'm sure people will be lining up to buy some clothing that smells like mildew and the backside of a cat! Oh yeah!
Anyway, if you are ever considering donating something to any thrift store, not just the DI, make it count. Please, for the love.
P.S.
Don't make me physically beat you.

Sicko type of Healthcare

Wow, I just watched the Michael Moore movie "Sicko" for the first time today. Let me just say that it was a real eye opener for me in many ways. I had always known previously that our healthcare system in the United States was screwed up, but I never really realized had bad it actually was.
I think that the common thread with any of the major problems we have in the world, is that people start caring more about money than people. I know that this sounds really obvious and this is not some new found discovery, but it is still appalling none the less.
I was really shocked to learn that there are hospitals that will take current patients who cannot pay out for the procedural work that they need done, and drop them off disoriented on the side of the road.
All of my life I thought we were so advanced as a society, and it seems that we are way far behind when it comes to healthcare in this country.
I could go on and on about this giant issue, but I am going to stop myself before I get way too into it.

Bushwacked

I don't know about anybody else, but I've had enough of these gas prices. It is ridiculous with the technology that we possess in this day and age, to not have a solution to the gas crisis.
Well, the reality is, it isn't that we don't have the technology and resources for a change, we just have some really greedy bastards at the helm. We all know that Pres. Bush acts real concerned with the current problem, but then sits back as he watches his stock go up and up. I think that we should change the name of the country to "The United Stations and Gas Companies".
Hey, I figure since I am ranting and venting, why not move on to other things that infuriate me.
NASA, the number one leech on society, next to the illegal immigrants. All my life I have wondered why we are so anxious to spend billions of dollars on something so pointless as finding out what the surface of Mars is like. Sure, I think that it is interesting to learn more and more about the universe in which we live, but at what expense.
Think about how far ahead of the game we would be if we put that money into something more useful like our education system, college scholarships, or the starving citizens of this country!
Maybe someday in the future we'll get someone with the cahones to completely irradicate this useless program (this section gives a shout-out to my Father-in-law).
Next, let's talk about presidential canidates. I hope and pray that one day we will get someone worth voting for. Every election instead of voting for who we think is the best, we have to vote for the best of the worst. People talk about change, whether we get McCain or Obama, we're screwed either way.
Lastly, my big beef for the day is with illegal immigrants. Now, to start off I want to say that I have no problem with those that come to this country to better their situation. But, I don't want that to happen at the expense of my family or the country I once knew. My biggest beef with illegals is the confused patriotism. They flow into the United States to better their lives, but they are eager to display and wave their previous country's flag - especially Mexico. I know a lot of great Mexican Americans that came here legally and work hard every day to contribute just as much as anyone else. We don't need people here illegally sucking out our taxes for free healthcare, education, etc.
However, the most at blame are the politicians. It is interesting that we can have the most advanced military system in the world, but we can't seem to secure our borders.
I know that some of the things that I have written in this entry have probably offended some people. Well, all I can say is "one thousand more fools are being born every day". I can care less about being politically correct or living a lie.
